Description:

This 100 x 420 foot broiler barn houses 65,000 birds at one time. Wood frame construction with exterior and interior metal cladding proved to be efficient and cost-effective. Superior ventilation is maintained by means of a combination of mechanically operated soffit louvers and interior mixing boxes which provide fresh air mixed with heated interior air

Centec Genetics Sow Barn:

The composite wall with integral insulation provided a unique solution for exterior walls.

Description:

This purpose-built facility houses a 2500 head sow operation. The building is 79,000 sq. ft. and besides the livestock area, contains a 2000 sq. ft. administrative area for staff, showers, a laboratory, and manager’s offices. The complex also includes a clay-lined lagoon, a 1600 sq. ft. mechanical building, and a 2500 sq.ft. quarantine barn.

An unusual feature of construction was the 12 foot high exterior composite wall of cast-in-place concrete and three-inch thick rigid insulation.

Broderick Potato Storage:

The key to the success of this potato storage facility construction project was timely completion - the year's bumper crop had to be harvested and stored before first frost.

Description:

This pre-cast concrete tilt-up structure was put up by Three Way Builders Ltd. under an extremely tight schedule, following completion of a similar building for the same client a year before. Design changes recommended by Three Way Builders Ltd. were made to the pre-cast ventilating ducts installed under the entire floor area, resulting in reduced construction time.

The effective integration and orchestration of work crews allowed for simultaneous work to take place in cast-in-place concrete, pre-cast concrete, installation of large span wood trusses, and application of metal cladding. This coordinated approach was the key to the success of this job.
